Paul Wilkins will talk about the girls and women who were munition workers in the First World War. The reason they had the title of Canary Girls was because of the substances they had to work with such as TNT which made their skin turn yellow. The work they undertook was highly dangerous and there were many explosions in the factories where they worked. It’s an untold and forgotten story that is not well known.
