Katie Foster is a Newport U3a member and Chair of Alzheimer’s Research UK for Shropshire. Her talk will outline what is being done to find a cure    - It's not all gloom and doom on the research front - a talk to shine a light on the realities of the many types of dementia (Alzheimer's Disease the most common) - and the optimism that's currently developing in the research community! Katie's a volunteer & leads the Shropshire Fundraising Group for Alzheimer's Research UK and is a member of their national Involvement & Lived Experience Group. She recently spoke as a layman at the international launch of the charity's new Dementia Frontiers Fund.  This talk is for anyone and definitely not depressing!
